One of the most familiar faces on BBC World News is bringing his knowledge and understanding of all things business to Perth to host the Resources Technology Showcase 2019.

Aaron Heslehurst’s Talking Business program is beamed around the globe to deliver the day’s big stories and interviews with some of the world’s most powerful names in commerce.

“I am very excited to host this incredible event in the economic powerhouse that is Perth, Western Australia,” Mr Haslehurst said.

“I get to talk a lot about the global resources industry and technology on my show — and so I cannot wait to hear from some of the world’s leading technology and innovation experts about the breakthroughs that have made Australia’s resources industry the most innovative and competitive in the world.”

Some of the world’s most influential figures in mining, oil and gas will be in Perth on November 27 and 28 for RTS2019 — hosted by Seven West Media — to reveal the technological future of their companies and take part in panel sessions on everything from artificial intelligence and robotics to skilling up the future workforce.

A grand exhibition as part of the showcase will be a must-attend event for anyone seeking insights into how technology is changing Australia’s most important industries.

Mr Heslehurt will be among a large contingent of influential journalists to converge on Perth to cover the event.

He launched the daily half-hour Talking Business with Aaron Heslehurst show in 2017 and has interviewed some of the world’s biggest corporate leaders and heads of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the European Union and the World Trade Organisation.

In 2009 he won Best Industry Commentator of the Year, voted for by the British public, in the Daily Telegraph Wealth Management Awards and over a 16-year career at BBC has presented across all channels, including the 24-hour News Channel, the BBC Travel Show and as part of the presenter team on BBC Breakfast, the acclaimed morning program on BBC One in the UK.

Before joining BBC World News, Mr Heslehurst was a senior news anchor with CNBC Nordic, a branch of NBC America, based in Denmark. He was also the European bureau chief for Paramount Pictures and Real TV News in the US and later in London.
