Male motorcyclist flown to Royal Perth Hospital after driving into tree on Pinjarra-Williams Road, Dwellingup

A man has been flown to Royal Perth Hospital after his motorcycle crashed into a tree in WA’s south-east on Sunday. Shortly before 11am, a motorcyclist in his 40s, ran into a tree near the Pinjarra-Williams Road and Watts Road intersection, in Dwellingup. A St John of God media spokesperson said the man was conscious and breathing, but the extent of the man’s injuries was unknown. Two ambulances and a rescue helicopter attended the scene. The crash comes just hours after a person died in a crash on the North West Coast Highway in Roebourne. A police media spokesperson said a ute and a motorcycle collided near Cleaverville Road, but could not confirm which driver had died. A 30km stretch of road from Karratha Industrial Estate to Roebourne has been closed in both directions since about 6am following the accident. On a post to Facebook Pilbara District police advised drivers to avoid the area and find an alternative route if possible. Major Crash officers are travelling to the area and due to arrive later today.
