Geraldton number two country week side lose relegation final against Great Southern

Geraldton’s number two country week cricket side will be in C-section next year after losing the B-section relegation final to Great Southern at Murdoch University last Friday.

Geraldton batted first and made a creditable 8-234 with Gus Heberle (92) recording his career best. Kade Gillingham (53) and Jai Russell (24) also made runs.

Great Southern lost five wickets in winning but were helped by poor catching with James Barritt (134) a beneficiary. Gus Spalding (2-27) bowled well.

On Thursday, the Twos lost to Eastern Districts at Coker Parkk who made 9-246. Mitch McAuliffe (4-45) and Heberle (3-37) bowled well. Geraldton made 208 with runs to Matt Greenlees (56) and Russell (49).
