Olympians denied title three-peat as Allstars take A-grade grand final win in Katanning Netball Association

Allstars 1 have denied Olympians 1 a third straight A-grade premiership, claiming a tense grand final in the Katanning Netball Association on Saturday. The KNA held a fantastic grand final day for juniors and seniors to round out the 2022 season. There was a changing of the guard in the top division as Allstars stunned their rivals and prevented a premiership three-peat. With a great mindset and teamwork, Allstars controlled the game and jumped out to an early lead, and from there they never let up and went on to record a 42-32 victory at the final whistle. Throughout the season, Allstars showed tremendous teamwork, which was evident in the grand final. The big day started off with a juniors’ round robin, as six teams played this as their final round of the season with plenty of enjoyment. Katanning’s QFH Vixens and the Kojonup Opals drew a mighty crowd for their junior grand final and it was an epic game from the first whistle as both teams gave it their all through all four quarters. There were several lead changes and the grand final was up for grabs late in the game. However, in the final stages it was QFH that went into fast mode and took home the title by two goals, 51-49. In the A-reserve, Allstars 2 hit the court with Kojonup 2 for the grand final. It was a real nailbiter throughout most of the contest but Allstars managed to down Kojonup in strong fashion, winning 53-42. The B-grade grand final between Dumbleyung 1 and Kojonup 3 was superb. Dumbleyung were undefeated all season heading into the decider and pushed hard from the outset. Kojonup put up a good fight but it was Dumbleyung who emerged victorious, 51-41. In C-grade, Dumbleyung 2 battled with Cardinals Phoenix for the premiership. Cardinals Phoenix lost a player to injury and Dumbleyung were too strong across the four quarters to win 46-35.
