Brody Conroy racked-up another accolade alongside the region’s best eight ball players with his victory last Saturday in the annual IMFS Summer Singles.

With his victory over Jake Persello in the final, Conroy claimed a third title in four years — following on from successes in 2022 and 2024.

Rounding out the top-four were Jeff Delbridge and Dean Curry.

Conroy took up eight ball in 2015 and burst to prominence in 2018 when he was named in Australia’s under-23 blackball team.

Last year, he was named to captain Australia’s blackball team - similar to eight ball but played on smaller tables - for the inaugural world titles in Malta.

In local domestic fixtures played last week, victories were recorded by Grand Trolley Boys, Country Club Ballers, Star and Garter Pirates and Grand Workers.

This Thursday night, Boulder’s Grand Hotel hosts a clash of unbeaten teams, Trolley Boys and Pirates, and Gala Warriors are at home against Workers’ Cue Crew for a must-win clash.

Local eight ball remains in good hands after Goldfields players Mitchell Dimer (under-12) and Chelsea Smith (under-18) formed part of the winning WA team at this month’s national junior championships in Perth.

A strong Goldfields flavour at the series included Bryce Forman, who relished an opportunity to represent NT who were short on numbers.

All three players finished among the top bracket for overall averages and the individual singles.
