Talented field to battle it out in annual Ladies Open Singles
Goldfields Eight Ball Association’s female talent assumes centre stage on Saturday for the annual Ladies Open Singles.
Jeanette Dimer was the inaugural winner in 2016.
However, Mayana Aspinall has dominated the event since — racking-up five titles in the past eight years.
Aspinall this weekend chases a fourth-consecutive trophy.
Her strongest competition is expected to come from the likes of Dimer, Megan Persello, Sandy Gates, Paula Winfield, and under-18 State champion Chelsea Smith.
The event is open to the public and will be at Boulder’s Grand Hotel, starting at 10am with nominations taken from 9.30am.
Meanwhile, after four rounds of domestic competition, four teams are undefeated — Grand Trolley Boys, Tower Jokers, Star and Garter Pirates and Country Club Cobras.
Workers’ Cue Club last week opened their winning account against Grand Workers.
In this week’s round, Tower Jokers host Star and Garter Pirates in a keen battle to stay unbeaten.
The Dax Wasley closed singles has been again rescheduled, with the official date now February 8.
