William Bay missing man: Emergency services still searching for swimmer at Greens Pool snorkelling spot

Jet-skis and drones were used in the search for a missing man off the Denmark coast on Saturday amid tricky conditions as authorities turn their focus to recovery efforts.
Police, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Marine Rescue WA, Denmark Volunteer Marine Rescue and Surf Life Saving personnel were on the scene Saturday morning to continue the search, as poor visibility and weather conditions threatened to hamper search efforts.
Two jet-skis with Surf Life Saving personnel were deployed to search a short stretch of coastline in and around Greens Pool, about 18km west of Denmark, as several police drones scanned the water from above.
Conditions became more challenging into the afternoon, with south-southeasterly winds producing strong currents and swells up to 3m.
Police are now awaiting the arrival of recovery divers from Perth, who aren’t expected to arrive at the scene until early Sunday morning.

Emergency services first received reports of a person in distress in the water just before 4.30pm on Friday, sending two road crews and the RAC rescue helicopter to look for the man.
Police say the man in his 60s was visiting WA with his family from New South Wales and was last seen snorkelling among the rocks at Greens Pool.
It remains unclear how far he ventured out, but it’s understood witnesses in the area were unable to reach him in Friday’s rough conditions before losing sight of him in the water.
Two family members, a man and a woman, were briefly at the scene on Saturday afternoon to talk to police.
The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions closed William Bay National Park about 8.15pm Friday night due to the “police operation”. It is likely to stay closed until further notice.
