All Blacks cruised to a 6-2 victory over Olympics on Friday in the Upper Great Southern Hockey Association’s men’s A-grade competition.
Andrew Bairstow converted three goals for All Blacks, while David Phillips scored another two, leading the team to victory alongside Liam Sweeney and Angus Armstrong.
Despite not scoring a single goal, Olympics’ Steve Sexton, Brad Staphorst and Royce Quartermaine were voted best in the team.
In the second men’s A-grade game, Riffs scored a tight 4-3 win over Warriors.
Rhys Angwin beat the Warriors’ keeper three times and was voted Riffs’ best, along with Brock Francis and Gareth Keeling.
In the UGSHA’s women’s A-grade, Wagin got the better of Robins by a margin of 3-2.
Keisha Thompson, Marli Spooner and Nicole Ward all scored and Wagin’s best players were Spooner, Sharni Chiswell and Vanessa Perkins.
Kristy Medlen led Williams to 2-1 victory in their clash with Warriors on Saturday night.
Medlen beat the keeper and led the team across the turf, with Rachel Harding and Brooke Duff assisting.
Tracey Price also converted a goal for Warriors.
Chloe Buzza scored Warriors’ only goal and was voted as the best player in the game, as well as her team’s best along with Tayla Atkins and Alyce Smith.
