Carols will ring out through Narrogin once again, when the town’s annual Carols in the Park are held this Sunday at Mackie Park, hosted by the combined churches of Narrogin.

A sausage sizzle dinner and children’s activities will begin at 6pm, with carols starting at 7pm. The free all-ages event usually attracts about 200 people.

“We love to do this and try to highlight the reason behind Christmas,” Baptist Church Pastor Peter Aitchison said.

“Christmas has been very commercialised for a long time now, and we’re forgetting the reason why we actually have Christmas, which is the birth of Jesus Christ.”

Carols will be performed with a live band.

There will also be a nativity re-enactment. “It’s great for the town and it’s a good public event to get people out and about and into the festive spirit,” Paster Aitchison said.

“It’s great for a bit of fun, and we really encourage everyone to come on down.”
