The Narrogin Amateur Swimming Club continues to grow in strength and numbers for the 2020 swim season.

With a strong volunteer-based committee and coaches, and with the support of the YMCA Narrogin Regional Leisure Centre, the club has been busy training and competing.

NASC coach Tanya Hart said she hoped to continue their current success in the pool.

“We have had kids competing in meets in Mandurah, Collie, Perth, Pinjarra and Northam so far this season and we have upcoming meets in Wagin and York with the Country Pennants in Geraldton happening this month,” she said.

The club has had swimmers achieve outstanding personal best times ranging from three seconds to 16 seconds better than they’ve previously swam, as well as some achieving State times.

Hart said despite the great results the club was always looking for more members.

“We just want to get the word out there ... we train three nights a week and a lot of the work is done by volunteers,” she said.

The club trains in the indoor pool at the YMCA Narrogin Regional Leisure Centre.

However, the pool is only 25m in length meaning they are unable to use it for competitions and the club has to travel to surrounding districts for swim meets.

The club is open to all members, with ages from eight to 45.
