Darkan CWA will host a Wellbeing for Women event focused on local mental, physical, and emotional welfare

With a promise to uplift Wheatbelt women, the Darkan CWA will host a mental and physical health event focused on nurturing the community’s welfare. Wellbeing for Women will offer exercise activities, a mental health workshop, and guest speakers, with a creche, lunch, and morning tea provided on September 22 from 11am to 4pm. Event organiser and Darkan CWA member Bonnie Telfer said the event promises to uplift and inspire women living regionally. “Rural communities are facing many challenges at the moment and it is as important now than ever to look after ourselves and each other,” she said. Attendees can participate in seated exercises for stretching and toning led by local physiotherapist Pam Stockley or a low-impact workout by Kate Ivey Fitness trainers, who will also hold a 45-minute pilates and stretch. Home of DediKate, Kate Ivey Fitness is an online health and fitness community dedicated to regional women and operates from founder Kate Ivey’s New Zealand farmhouse. As a mother of three, Ms Ivey targets her workouts to Australian and New Zealand mothers who are short on time and will offer guests a DediKate three-month free trial. Farm Life Fitness director and coach Louise O’Neill will share her and her husband’s journey to achieving mental, physical, and emotional strength through a goal-setting workshop and a grounding session. Ms O’Neill will gift guests a goody bag including an e-book, a pre-recorded video of grounding techniques, and a take-home guide.
