Narrogin house fire: Detectives calling for help in arson investigation as woman and children escaped unharmed

The arson squad and Narrogin detectives are calling for public assistance after a suspicious house fire that caused about $100,000 damage in the early hours of Friday morning. Two children and a woman made a lucky escape from the blaze that engulfed their home on Ensign Street in Narogin. Between 3am and 4am the occupants of the home woke up to find the lounge room on fire. They were able to escape without injury but the fire spread through a large portion of the home, with smoke damage spreading through the entire residence. Police released further information about the blaze and pictures from inside the home on Wednesday and said the estimated damage bill was about $100,000. Two crews from Narrogin Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service helped put the blaze out. Firefighters arrived to find the lounge room engulfed by flames. Crews worked to bring the fire under control and it was contained by 5am. Arson Squad detectives then attended the property and conducted an examination of the scene of the fire. Narrogin detectives are heading up the investigation and want to speak to anyone with information regarding this fire, or who heard or saw anything suspicious in Ensign Street or the surrounding area between 3-4am on the day of the fire.
