NDNA 2024: Olympics Teal and Cuballing in tight grand final contest, glory for Wickepin and Flames Fire
Narrogin and Districts Netball Association held the 2024 grand finals on Saturday and Sunday.
Sunday afternoon began with the junior division two grand final.
Flames Fire were too strong for Olympics Cobalt, winning 59-12.
Hope Hayes, who consistently performed well for Flames Fire, claimed the most valuable player award.
The junior division one game was a much tighter contest where Olympics Teal took on Cuballing 2.
The game was fast-paced and intense with the teams going goal for goal.
The two teams traded the lead several times, exciting spectators and raising the heart rates of the coaches.
Olympics Teal managed to stay calm under pressure and capitalised on several turnovers forced by MVP Horriekesha Williams, running out 39-34 victors.
On Saturday in the A3 decider, Wickepin 2 took on the Olympics Royals, with Wickepin coming out strongly with tight defensive pressure down the court.
Olympics Royals, who had a strong run home into the grand final, couldn’t find a way past the Wickepin defence who took many intercepts and rebounds to run out 46-28 winners.
