Special visit from Rick the Eagle and former West Coast star promotes healthy habits at East Narrogin Primary

East Narrogin Primary School was treated to a visit from former West Coast Eagles player Bradd Dalziell and club mascot Rick the Eagle last week. The pair visited the school on Thursday, to talk to lower-primary children about the importance of leading a healthy active lifestyle. “The students were highly engaged with the interactive workshop provided by Auskick,” East Narrogin Primary School deputy principal Joanna Hayes said. “There was a visit from Rick the Eagle, it was all about being healthy, drinking lots of water and eating the right food.” Following the talk in the school undercover area, West Coast Eagle’s regional community officer and WAFL player Sam Rotham and Dalziell led the children out on to the oval to kick the footy around. “It was highly engaging and well organised,” Hayes said. “The kids all received an Eagles cape.” Rotham and Dalziell were joined on the oval by Auskick co-ordinators Caleb and Cherri McBlane and Wheatbelt regional football specialist Paul Reid. While this visit was for lower-primary children, Hayes said that the upper-primary children have not been forgotten. “We’re looking forward to them coming back in the near future,” she said.
