Williams remain undefeated in the Upper Great Southern Cricket Association after comfortably downing Towns

Williams continued their unbeaten start the 2020-2021 Upper Great Southern Cricket Association A-grade season after defeating Towns in round three at Narrogin on Saturday. A classy half century from veteran Rodney Ford helped Williams record a comfortable 61-run victory. Ford finished 75 not out from 93 balls as his side compiled a winning score batting first. Robert Rose and Mitch Hogg combined for a 54-run opening partnership to set the platform for Ford, who came in at No.3 when Hogg was bowled for 28. Ford and Rose added 35 together before the latter was removed for 33. Brock Titko (18) played a strong support role for Ford as they got their side to 3-137 when Titko was dismissed. Ford finished off the innings to help Williams post 4-180 off 45 overs. Towns captain Ben McMillan claimed 2-39 but his side were set 181 for victory. In the run chase, Towns lost consistent wickets despite Liam Sweeney posting a half century. Towns fell to 6-112 when Sweeney was removed for 54 as they lost 5-7 to be bowled out for 119 in the 36th over. Titko ran through the lower order claiming 4-16 off six overs while Ford snared 3-22 off eight overs. A half century to Cuballing captain Blair Forrest and a five-wicket haul to Wouter Moolman helped Cuballing win their second game of the season, defeating Wandering. Forrest top scored with 59 and was well supported by Joe Dowling (36), Andrew Harris (21) and Todd Dowling (21no) as Cuballing posted 7-195 batting first. Lewis Parsons and Bryan Hardie took two wickets each for Wandering. In reply, Wandering got to 2-98 before Moolman ripped through their middle order, taking five wickets to leave Wandering at 7-127. Terrence Enslin finished the game off for Cuballing, taking the final two wickets as they won by 48 runs. Moolman finished with impressive figures of 5-29 off 10 overs. Pingelly-Noonebin won their round three clash against Dumbleyung by forfeit.
