“How did he manage to get on the roof?”
The former President was rushed off the stage during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, after a botched assassination attempt on his life. Trump has called it a miracle, stating, “I’m not supposed to be here, I’m supposed to be dead”.
Despite spectators shouting warnings, Crooks managed to fire eight rounds before being taken down by secret service snipers.
“For a nation that prides itself on its firearms and marksmanship, they often miss” Harvey remarks.
Harvey draws comparisons to the 1981 Ronald Reagan assassination attempt, pointing out how differently the security details protected each former President.
He also breaks down the conspiracy theories that have emerged on both sides of the US political spectrum, from Joe Biden “sending the order” to Elon Musk suggestion that the Secret Service deliberately overlooked security gaps.
“Elon Musk has suggested the secret service — which contrary to popular opinion falls within the dept of homeland security, not the treasury — deliberately overlooked security gaps.“
