Isaac Heeney may dominate the count, but a suspension leaves him ineligible, meaning almost anyone could claim the 111th Brownlow Medal.

Still improving

Cripps says he still wants to get better in a pursuit of a premiership.

He spent much of last off-season working with a specialist coach on sprinting, power and agility.

What else can he improve?

It’s a scary question.

A toast

The room rises as they celebrate Cripps’ incredible achievement.

He becomes the first Carlton player to win multiple Brownlow Medals and can now be considered one of the club’s greatest.

The West Aussie congratulates Nick Daicos for his second place.

Rapid finish

Andrew Dillon is flying through the final two rounds as Cripps soaks up his second Brownlow triumph.

It’s been an extraordinary count as Daicos polls another three votes only to be matched by Cripps against the Eagles.

Diacos is very unlucky to poll 38 votes and lose to Cripps with 45!

Round 22

Oscar Allen gets his first vote of the year to add to the Eagles miserly tally.

Caleb Serong gets to 28 with another three votes in a crazy high count.

Patrick Cripps finally misses the votes as the Hawks smashed them.

However, Daicos only gets two votes and makes Cripps the outright Brownlow medallist!

Round 21

Elliott Yeo grabs two votes to take the lead for the Eagles with eight.

Lachie Neale gets three to move to 19.

Nick Daicos grabs two as Patrick Cripps gets three in the same game to break the record for most votes ever.

He has won the medal but Daicos can equal him.
