The Front Bar has done it again – but this time on a cricket edition rather than footy.

With Greg Chappell finishing his tenure as Australian selector at the end of September, there’s been a well-publicised vacant role Cricket Australia is looking to fill.

All reports indicate it’s down to a two-horse race between former Perth Scorchers star Michael Klinger and current Hobart Hurricane veteran George Bailey – but that hasn’t deterred Mick Molloy from throwing his hat in the ring.

The hilarious TV star has shared the video of his ‘official’ meeting with Cricket Australia CEO Kevin Roberts, in his bid to become Trevor Hohns’ right-hand man.

“What about Steve Smith?” Molloy asks Roberts in the video.

“He doesn’t walk into this side. He’s leaving himself open when he’s (playing).

“He’s playing too late – it’s all hands. Don’t drop him, 12th man.”

As well as the brilliant suggestion to leave the world number one batsman out of the side, the 53-year-old is keen to see the return of the great David Boon.

“Alright batsmen. Bring back Boonie,” Molloy demands.

“Where have all the tubby cricketers gone? I mean, there’s nothing out there for the little fat kids to shoot for.”

The ‘tubby’ cricketers won’t be running fine leg to fine leg with the field placements Molloy has in mind.

“How about nine slips. Yeah?” Molloy says.

“We’re going to leak a few runs but nick it and you’re gone.”

Molloy goes on to make a hilarious comment in reference to sandpaper-gate, stating ‘not that cheating goes on at Test level’ in an extremely on the nose joke.

The video was warmly received by viewers who took to social media to share their enjoyment of it.
