Another young West Aussie has joined the WBBL, with Melbourne Stars snapping up Ines McKeon.

The 17-year-old signed a two-season contract on Monday to complete the Stars’ list after a promising T20 Spring Challenge playing with Perth Scorchers.

McKeon opened the pre-season tournament with a rapid-fire 30, while she has also played 16 international T20 games for France with a high score of 94.

She has also represented her birth nation at U19s level.

“We’ve always got an eye on the future, and Ines fits the profile of the way the women’s game is going with her natural power,” Stars general manager Blair Crouch said.

“We’re looking forward to seeing her in action over the next two years and seeing her development in that time.”

McKeon was added to Western Australia’s WNCL squad in January and made her debut against the ACT just days later.
