Formula One isn’t the only racing category Red Bull is dominating as Will Brown and Broc Feeney hope to strengthen their hold on the V8 Supercars Championship in Perth this weekend.

Of the eight races this season, only two have not been won by the Red Bull racing pair as they sit one and two in the championship and more than 450 points clear in the teams’ standings.

Both are expected to be at the front again in Perth this week, where Supercars will race twice at the Wanneroo Circuit.

“The start of the season has been awesome, it’s been better than I could have hoped for moving across to the team this season,” Brown said.

“But there’s still a long season ahead and while we’ve had a good strong run out of the gates but it’s important we keep that going.”

The pair are also two of just five drivers in the current field who have been on the top step at Wanneroo, both winning last year, and that experience could be vital on the short course.

With a lap distance of just 2.42km and lap times clocking in under a minute every tenth is crucial.

“Around here a tenth of a second can probably cost you seven or eight spots, so a good qualifying lap really sets you up, fortunately, last year I got on the pole and won,” Feeney said.

“If we get out well and qualify on the front row again I think we can have great success.

“But with a different format this year and longer races it can give us a lot more flexibility, particularly around tyres.”

Drivers will hit the track for first practice on Friday afternoon with qualifying and racing getting underway on Saturday.
