New SilverKris Lounge at Perth International Airport ticks all the boxes
Singapore Airlines has opened a brand-new SilverKris Lounge at Perth International Airport with more than double the space of the previous lounge.
The new lounge can accommodate around 135 guests and it has a relaxed and distinctly SIA feel to it.
Regular SIA customers will recognise many signature elements from the recently completed flagship SilverKris Lounge in Singapore’s Changi Airport.
The familiar SIA floral batik motif greets guests at the entrance, which is located opposite Gate 52 in the international departure area of Terminal 1.
Once inside guests find themselves in a large but quite beautiful room which is cleverly divided into two different areas by a row of specially designed productivity pods (where workers can find a quiet and private space to work).
One side of the room has a relaxed dining area adjacent to a buffet and a bar. The buffet is fully stocked with a selection of seasonal fruit, canapes, salads and desserts, plus a selection of bread and pastries. The hot buffet includes dishes like ginger shallot barramundi, prawn shiitake mushroom fried rice, and chimichurri chicken.
At the live cooking station, the chef can whip up dishes like Singapore chicken rice or spicy tomato and capsicum pasta while you wait. The full-service bar serves barista coffee and signature cocktails made with West Australian spirits like Old Young’s Six Seasons Gin. Beer lovers are well served with a selection of craft beers from Beerfarm.
The luxurious lounge area on the opposite side of the room has a more relaxed feel with subdued lighting and comfortable chairs. Guests can relax in beautiful wingback chairs or in tub chairs which are separated by small tables with lamps and USB charging points.
Guests who want to freshen up before their flight can do so in one of the well-appointed shower rooms.
The new lounge, which has been several years in the planning, took eight months to complete and coincides with SIA’s announcement that they will return to pre-pandemic operations, with the addition of three weekly services from 31 March 2024, bringing the total to 28 flights a week between Singapore and Perth.
SIA’s regional vice-president for the Southwest Pacific, Louis Arul, said: “We are pleased to have been a steady contributor to Perth’s global connectivity over the years. The new lounge is a significant investment to ensure the ground experience matches the premium experience in the air, and a testament to our confidence in Western Australia.
“I would like to extend a sincere thanks to our customers for their patience during the construction, and to the team at Perth Airport who have worked closely with us to bring this project to life.”
The KrisFlyer Lounge is open to customers travelling in Business Class, First Class Suites, PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold members, Virgin Australia Velocity Beyond, Platinum, and Gold card members departing on SIA-operated flights, as well as Star Alliance Gold members travelling on Star Alliance-operated flights during lounge operating hours.
