Fremantle star Caleb Serong has etched his claim as a western derby specialist after earning his third Glendinning-Allan Medal.

The Dockers vice-captain was the unanimous winner with the maximum nine votes after 32 disposals, 12 score involvements and a goal in the 35-point victory at Optus Stadium on Saturday.

“How good is this?” Serong asked the 56,000-strong crowd after accepting the medal from inaugural Fremantle captain Ben Allan.

Acknowledging the Fremantle faithful, Serong said: “Keep turning up for us, hopefully something special is around the corner.”

All three judges agreed on their top three, with acting skipper Andrew Brayshaw (six votes) as the runner-up and Hayden Young (three votes) finishing third.

Serong claimed his first derby medal in round 11, 2021 as the club broke an 11-game losing streak against West Coast.

His second came in round three, 2023 in the Dockers’ first win of that season.

Only Fremantle great Paul Hasleby (four) has won the medal more times, with Serong tying Matthew Pavlich, Michael Barlow and Lachie Neale as the Dockers to claim three.
